WING FOIL LESSONS

GET THE SURF FEELING

Austria's #1 WING FOIL SCHOOL

LESSONS FOR ALL LEVELS

As the only wing foil school in Podersdorf at Neusiedler See, we are excited to introduce you to the thrilling sport of wing foiling. From the very start of the wing foil movement, we have been deeply involved, and we are eager to pass on all our knowledge and experience in one of our courses. Neusiedler See is an outstanding location for wing surf/foil beginners, as the entire lake is shallow enough to stand in. This greatly facilitates both teaching and learning. Even in strong winds, the lake remains relatively calm with minimal waves and no shorebreak, creating ideal conditions for learners.

If you have never handled a wing, we will begin by showing you how to hold and maneuver it. After mastering the basics, we will take to the water where you will learn to navigate a SUP board, gaining a better understanding and feel for using the wing. Once you are comfortable with the fundamentals, we will introduce the foil into the equation. Our center also has several efoil boards, offering you an initial glimpse into the exhilarating sensation of foiling. Eventually, you'll combine these skills to experience your first flights. Trust us, the surf sensation will leave you utterly captivated! Drop us a message to book your first wing surf or wing foil class. We can't wait to share the stoke of wing foiling with you!

Wing Surf Course

WING SURF LESSON

The beginner wing surf course provides a solid foundation for progressing to wing foiling. We begin our courses on land to cover all the theoretical aspects and essential dry land exercises. This groundwork will greatly benefit you once you're in the water. Most students are able to manage on their own after completing this course and can rent wing and SUP equipment. Here's what we'll teach you, both on land and in the water:

  • Understanding the different types of equipment suitable for beginners and what to use as you progress
  • Learning which size is best for the student and the wind conditions, and how to park your equipment without damaging it with the foil or fins
  • Practicing on land how to hold and fly the wing by walking up and down a grassy area
  • Learning about different courses such as downwind, upwind and more
  • An explanation of the tack and the gybe
  • Practicing how to stand up on the board while still on land
  • Moving onto the water to practice the learned skills
  • Boat support if necessary
  • Once everyone can stand up, students practice sailing upwind
  • Tacking and gybing are practiced towards the end of the course

E-FOIL COURSE

E-FOIL Lesson

We highly recommend participating in an e-foil lesson, especially if you have never foiled before or are planning to progress to wing foiling. During the e-foil lesson, you will gain a sense of how the foil behaves, as well as learn to control its lift and descent. While the e-foil course is not mandatory for your progression, we have found that it significantly enhances the learning experience when transitioning to (wing) foiling.

Level: beginner
Requirement:
swimming ability
Duration: 1 hour (private coaching) & 1,5 hours (group)
Group ratio: one-on-one coaching or max. 3 students per instructor

Equipment: efoil board included

WING FOIL COURSE

WING FOIL LESSONS

The Wing Foil course builds on the skills developed in the Wing Surf (and e-foil) course, taking you further into the world of wing foiling. We start the course with a brief land session to make sure you are comfortable handling the wing before hitting the water. To facilitate a smoother learning curve, we provide our students with larger, voluminous boards and bigger wings right from the start. This equipment is selected for its stability and ease of balance, with the larger wing offering additional power and, consequently, more lift for the foil. As the course progresses, we will integrate all the techniques you have mastered previously. Most students require approximately 2 to 6 hours to become independent, reaching a point where they can practice alone with a large board.
